How to play Blackjack:

Never played Blackjack before? Games:Player has prepared an easy to follow step by step guide to help you become an expert. Having practiced on the free games on the site, you will be all set to try your luck for real!

Objective:
The objective of Blackjack is simple, beat the dealer by getting your cards as close as possible to 21 without going over.

Card values:
All cards are counted at face value except the jacks, Queens and Kings which are all valued at 10 and the Ace which can be used as either 1 or 11, depending on the hand you are dealt.

How to play:
Decide how much you would like to bet.
Both yourself and the dealer will be dealt 2 cards.
When dealt the following options will be available:
• Hit - you will get dealt another card.
• Stand - very close to 21? Choose to stick to the hand you have been dealt.
• Double Down - double the amount you have bet and another card is dealt to your hand
• Split - You have 2 cards of the same value - you can split to have 2 hands but you must also double your bet.

Once you have made your choice the total value of your hand will be confirmed. The dealer then flips their hand and if they have 17 or over they have to stand, if the value of their hand s less they can then deal until your high score has been beaten or they bust. If they get dealt the same score this is called push and you get your stake back and start again.

Guidelines and Tips:
If you get 11 or less you can't go bust
If you get 17 or more then stand if the dealer is not showing 7 or higher
If you get dealt between 12 and 16 then stand if the dealer has 'up' card that's likely to bust them. Hit if the dealer is showing 2 or 3 and you have 12.
If the dealer has 7 or higher and you have between 12 and 16 you could bust yourself.
If you get an ace then this is the time to play more aggressively.
